Signs of Spring in the Mountains

Even though Southeastern Arizona is in a severe drought, only .85" of rain for 2012 so far, I saw signs of Spring on Saturday.
Buds on our ocotillo cactus in our school parking lot and

buds on our mesquite trees at school. The mesquite tree is not native to Arizona. It was brought over by cattle from Texas in the cattle drives long gone by. Guess how the cattle brought it over?

We were able to grill out on our new grill in the backyard of our convent.

Spring also brings Holy Week. I helped with the Palm Sunday decorations. Covering all statues, pictures and the stations. Our 7th and 8th graders stripped the palms on Friday.

We had a mini procession before Palm Sunday Mass in our church's courtyard. 5:30pm Mass on Saturday:

Sunday 9:30am Palm Sunday Mass:

After the 9:30am Palm Sunday Mass all were invited into the Parish Hall to celebrate the 130th Founding of the Knights of Columbus by Father Michael McGivney. Our Knights of Columbus had coffee and dontus for all, display boards of the history of our parish and what the Knights all do.

Monday of Holy Week we travel to St. Augustine's Cathedral in Tucson for the Chrism Mass.
Blessings to all during this Holy Week!
